Lima, Peru

We are currently in the busy capitol city of Peru, Lima. Our hostel, 1900 Backpackers, was designed by Gustav Eiffel built in 1900. The Spanish-Colonial architecture of the city is fascinating. Yesterday was a holiday in Peru so the streets were extra crowded. The holiday is known as the Battle of Angamos, a naval battle with Chile fought in 1879. Today we head out on a 22 hours bus ride to Cusco, the longest ride yet. Here we come Machu Picchu!

  3. WOW. What an amazing trip. Other than the fried ants and long bus rides it sounds like a great time! I love the waterfalls. Continue on explorers and keep the pictures coming. Love, Joyce
